Pop Channel reports mainly for events related to actuality, which may be real or fictitious. The characters are also included in the report real or fictional, depending on context information. The program parodies typical situation of a direct connection informational edition, breaking news, and special correspondence.

The film is based on the novel of the same name by Ivan Hryhurko. The story is about the difficult life of young mechanics working on an irrigation canal in the steppe.
